At our first meeting in January 2010 at lodge 2195 in Rifle Co we were honored to have as a guest speaker Jessica DuPrius ( a MVS recipient in 2003 from Ohio). Jessica spoke to our lodge of her experiences in going through college and what receiving the Elks MVS Scholarship met to her. We found out that she is teaching 7th grade math at a middle school in our jurisdiction and likes the area of western Colorado where she now makes her home. A very interesting young lady. In attendance there were 16 members and officers ready to start off the new year. This coming lodge year we hope to have Jessica on some of our youth related activities as she has been asked to join our order and has filled out the proper paperwork to get started. Her application will be published in our next newsletter .
